RSCC Aerospace & Defense®
NEMA WC 27500-2012
Manchester, New Hampshire - 10/27/12:
The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) on July 3, 2012 published the ANSI/NEMA WC 27500-2012 specification, which supersedes the 2005 publication of the standard. A significant change has occurred to the specification, which now requires manufacturers to qualify the cables with the United States Department of The Navy – Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR).
RSCC Aerospace & Defense® is the first company to submit for this qualification and will be able to quote and manufacture cable which is fully compliant within NAVAIR’s first qualification timeline. NAVAIR has promised to work quickly to have an initial release of qualified manufacturers in November 2012. After receiving our official qualification letter, RSCC Aerospace & Defense® will be able to print all M27500 products with the "REV A" which certifies the cables have been qualified to the new revision of the standard. RSCC Aerospace & Defense® will be the one of the first in the aerospace industry to secure the qualification.
After October 1, 2013, manufacturers must be qualified to produce this cable to ANSI/NEMA WC 27500-2012 publication. We believe our early qualification to this standard will be a significant advantage to our customers providing proof of the products quality. In addition our distributors will be able to inventory this material without concern of the cable becoming obsolete stock after the Oct 1, 2013 date.
